Meet the Culinary Visionary Behind LÉLÉ

Chef
Michelin-curated Haitian‑Icelandic chef Rúnar Pierre Heriveaux brings both global experience and personal heritage to LÉLÉ. Best known for leading Reykjavík’s ÓX to Iceland’s second-ever Michelin star, Rúnar is celebrated for his precision, restraint, and fearless storytelling through food.

At LÉLÉ, he curates a menu that feels both like a homecoming and a reimagining of Afro‑Caribbean cuisine. Rooted in his Caribbean ancestry and shaped by French culinary training, Rúnar works closely with his team—sharing knowledge, testing family-inspired recipes, and crafting dishes that evolve with intention. From cooking a whole goat for rich, layered curry goat, to monkfish grilled on the bone with red curry and tamarind, to a simple yet soulful shrimp and green curry—every plate honors tradition while pushing culinary boundaries.

Rúnar’s vision is simple: blend memory with modernity, lift stories onto the plate, and co-create a menu with the very people who live and breathe this culture. This is Afro‑Caribbean cuisine reimagined—by the chef, for the community, with the community.
